The need

Where it started

Every business has know-how written down somewhere: SOPs, manuals, slide decks. Turning it into an eLearning course usually means weeks of a specialist's time or an outside agency, so most of it never becomes training. Madobia wanted a product that does it in hours, from the documents a team already has.

Who it's for: Business owners, training and L&D teams, and managers who need to train staff on their own processes and products.

Our role

What we did

We've built InstaCourse for Madobia since the first commit in November 2025, working from their designs, and took it live in March 2026. Customers approve the course outline before any content is written, so the structure is theirs. Generation runs as a background job that survives restarts and deployments. And a second model checks every module before the customer sees it.

The build

What we built

  • Upload PDFs, Word documents or slide decks: text and images are extracted and indexed, so every module is written from the customer's own material
  • An editable course outline that customers check and approve before anything is written
  • Modules written with knowledge checks, scored by a second model and rewritten if they fall short
  • A source panel for each module, showing the pages or slides it drew on and flagging any that need a closer look before download
  • Export as a SCORM 1.2 package for any learning management system, with the customer's branding and optional generated images
  • Live progress in the browser while a course builds, with jobs that pick up again automatically if a server restarts
  • Credit-based billing through Stripe: monthly plans and pay-as-you-go packs, with free credits on sign-up
  • A marketing site with free sample courses that play in the browser or download as SCORM

Results

What changed

  • £10,000+ saved on every hour of eLearning, compared with authoring it by hand
  • Based on 100 to 600 hours to author one hour of eLearning by hand (400 to 600 for most high-quality courses built on instructional design principles), at £75 an hour
  • Live since March 2026, priced per course rather than per learner or seat
  • SCORM packages checked end to end in Moodle: uploaded unchanged, completed as a learner, grade saved
  • Customers can see where each module's content came from before they share it
  • The test environment switches off outside working hours, so Madobia pays for it only when it's in use

Accessibility and data

Looking after people

Courses are written only from the customer's own uploads, and each module lists the pages it drew on, so trainers can check the facts before learners see them. Analytics and advertising tags load only after visitors accept cookies. Teams can sign in with their Microsoft account.

Since launch

What we still do

We still develop InstaCourse with Madobia every week. Since October 2026, Voyager, our delivery system, has taken well-defined tickets from Madobia's backlog and delivered them as tested, reviewed merge requests, each signed off by a senior engineer before release.
